About Dr Vishnu Prasad

Dr. Vishnu Prasad completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from KMC Mangalore, followed by a Master of Surgery (MS) in General Surgery from Government Medical College, Mysore. He pursued advanced training, earning a Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) in Urology and Renal Transplantation from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi, where he was honoured with the University Gold Medal for his exceptional performance. Dr. Prasad holds a Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) in Urology and is a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Urology, affiliated with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in Uro-Oncology and Robotic Surgery at the esteemed Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Kochi. He holds the Intuitive System Training Equivalency certificate, qualifying him as a proficient console surgeon in robotic surgery techniques.

Dr. Vishnu Prasad’s primary focus is on Uro-oncology, a specialized field addressing cancers affecting the prostate, urinary bladder, kidneys, upper tract urothelial tumors, penis, and testis. He possesses comprehensive training in performing robotic surgery for complex Uro-oncological tumors, along with addressing benign urological issues such as PU (pelvi-ureteric junction) obstruction, ureteric reimplantation, non-functional kidney removal, and vesicovaginal fistula repair. Additionally, he demonstrates expertise in minimally invasive laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery to treat a variety of benign and malignant conditions.

As a seasoned urologist, he possesses extensive experience in conducting urological procedures aimed at addressing a diverse range of kidney and urinary bladder stones, employing advanced techniques such as laser for stone clearance. He has successfully executed numerous surgeries to alleviate urinary obstruction resulting from an enlarged prostate, showcasing his proficiency and dedication in managing complex urological conditions.
